In the first two articles of this series, we've had a brief look at who the contenders are for this season's Premier League title and also the outfits who will be doing their very best to steer clear of the relegation zone.

Now the preview pieces are out of the way, it is time to look ahead to the opening weekend's action and although, there is not a great deal in the way of form or pre-match stats (to be honest, there is very little), there still some interesting insights that we can offer.

That's because although a lack of current form makes the task of picking a winner a little difficult this week, we can at least look at where the goals are going to be scored and especially in regard to the BTTS market.

With that in mind, I've had a deeper look at this first set of top-flight fixtures and will offer up four matches, that subsequently have a strong chance of seeing both teams find the back of the net come the final whistle.

BOURNEMOUTH VS SHEFFIELD UNITED

It goes without saying that every manager will be looking forward to this new Premier League season. However, Eddie Howe will arguably be the keenest of all, if only because it means he can put the Cherries' poor end to the previous campaign behind him.

They entertain Sheffield United on Saturday, who under Chris Wilder will be looking to hit the ground running at this level and with Bournemouth having the ability to blow hot and cold in equal measures, this makes for an interesting clash.

If you think that each team will breach their opponents net on Saturday, then it's odds of 3/4 for BTTS with Bet 365.

LEICESTER VS WOLVES

Sunday presents what could arguably be the most entertaining clash of the weekend, as Leicester play host to Wolves at the King Power and both outfits will be looking to put a dent in the top six glass ceiling come next May.

Whether Leicester can achieve this, now that they've sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United remains to be seen but his departure means that the prospect of them conceding goals against Wolves has increased considerably.

If you think Wolves can take advantage, while not being tight themselves – BTTS can be backed at 5/6.

NEWCASTLE VS ARSENAL

Newcastle's biggest signing of the summer should have been Rafael Benitez, instead it turned out to be Steve Bruce and it's fair to say that the former Sunderland boss will have a real job on his hands this season, one where he needs not just to win matches but to also win the Magpies fans over.

The perfect way to endear himself to such a passionate fanbase, would be to claim the scalp of Arsenal and although they have bought well in attack, their defence will still leave Unai Emery in a cold sweat on too many occasions.

If you think both teams will score on Sunday, you can back them once again at 4/6 for BTTS.

MANCHESTER UNITED VS CHELSEA

These are two teams who are in something of a state of flux and therefore it will be interesting to see just how Manchester United and Chelsea fare this season, while also the spotlight will be on both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Frank Lampard, in terms of their long-term job prospects.

Each manager will be looking to lay down a marker in terms of the race to finish in the top four and this means it could be a game that lends itself to goals and although this is a tie that can go either way, don't expect the Red Devils or the Blues to keep a clean sheet.

If you think that the weekend's football action will end in goals, then you can get 8/11 for BTTS.

THE FOUR LEG BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE ACCA

And of course, if you like the sound of all of these four tips and want to bundle it all-together than a BTTS four leg accumulator will pay out around 7/1.
